Metabolic interventions have the potential to radically transform our understanding and treatment of mental health conditions. We seek to build the evidence base for existing and emerging ketogenic and other metabolic interventions for those suffering from neuropsychiatric disorders. We fund high quality research with the goal of rapidly translating results into therapies delivered at scale.
Matt Baszucki shares how a keto diet helped him: ‘It’s all worth it’
Three years after starting a keto diet with the help of Dr. Chris Palmer, Matt Baszucki no longer has symptoms of bipolar disorder.
Highlighted grants
We invest in mechanistic clinical trials and innovative science focused on adapting evidence-based metabolic interventions to bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, major depression and anorexia nervosa.
INAUGURAL RETREAT
Baszucki Group hosted a Metabolic Psychiatry Meeting in May 2022 to begin building a movement focused on metabolic psychiatry. Fifty stakeholders gathered to share information and define the rapidly emerging new field. It became clear in the months following the meeting that an advocacy effort was critically needed to amplify research, clinical experience, and life stories. Baszucki Group launched Metabolic Mind, a nonprofit initiative to fill that gap.
RETREAT WELCOME REMARKS
Hear David Baszucki and Jan Ellison Baszucki share their family’s story at the first Metabolic Psychiatry Roadmap Retreat.
Ecosystem Building
We believe that delivering metabolic interventions for brain-based disorders requires more than high quality research. We hope to support the development of a pioneering community of entrepreneurs, early-stage companies, investors, scientists, physicians, dieticians, scientists, patients, advocates, science influencers, writers and funders.
