Our Work
Our governance work rests on the thesis that partisan politics can no longer be allowed to dominate our democracy. We fundamentally believe that issue-driven change will not be possible without first reforming the systems that determine not only who is elected, but the incentives that motivate our Congressional leaders. We support reforms that will end the stranglehold of the duopoly and restore the integrity of our democracy.
Majority Rules
Majority Rules explores a bold new approach to fixing the polarization and dysfunction of the American electoral system. Directed by veteran political filmmaker AJ Schnack (Caucus, Convention), the film dives into Alaska’s adoption of open primaries and ranked-choice voting—reforms designed to empower voters and foster a more functional, representative democracy.
Executive produced by our co-founders, David Baszucki and Jan Ellison Baszucki, the film raises urgent questions about the future of U.S. elections. Through interviews with both supporters and opponents of reform, Majority Rules takes viewers across the country to see where these innovations are already in place and where they might soon be adopted. The film challenges us to consider whether changing the way we vote could address today’s deep partisan divides and help government serve a majority of Americans.
