November 2, 2022 — Last year, Alaskans demonstrated that there is a better way to elect our leaders. In 2020, the state adopted the final-four voting system to replace party primaries with an open primary and instant runoff voting in the general election. The new election system aims to incentivize candidates to appeal to all candidates, rather than to their parties.
